Hobbies/Interests Outside of Dentistry: I absolutely love cooking and baking, experimenting in the kitchen and incorporating healthy spins on classic dishes. I am an avid runner, training for my first full marathon taking place in October 2017. I also love meeting new people and hearing their stories which is one of the reasons dentistry is the perfect career for me!
How I got Involved with ASDA: I got involved with ASDA as a D1 and had the opportunity to attend the ASDA Annual Session in Boston that year. Attending this conference and meeting countless influential leaders in dentistry truly opened my eyes to the world of dentistry outside of what we learn in the classrooms, inspiring me to get involved on the national level. Serving in many roles in ASDA on the local and district levels has led me to my current role nationally. #ASDAfever4life
What is your Favorite Animal and why? My favorite animal is a giraffe. Not only are giraffes one of the most beautiful animals on the planet, their grace and peacefulness is one that I admire.

Hobbies/Interests Outside of Dentistry: When I am not flipping through PowerPoints, I love reading non-fiction. I love almost everything written by Malcolm Gladwell especially, Outliers which talks about the hard work and extraordinary circumstances that come together to make people successful, and David and Goliath which talks about how underdogs defeat giants all the time. All of my extra time and money goes towards travel. This summer I’m spending 10 days at Glacier National Park in Montana with one of my classmates and a few friends from high school. Hiking and camping are awesome, but I also appreciate city travel, catching live concerts, tasting local draft beers everywhere I go, and I’m always down for fine dining (especially unique seafood dishes). Finally, every year I volunteer for a youth leadership program called HOBY (Hugh O’Brian Youth) that brings together talent high school sophomores from all over the world to inspire them to go back and make a difference in their communities.
How I got Involved with ASDA: The strength of the ADA and ASDA is the reason I chose dentistry as my profession. The professionals that have gone before us have protected our profession in a way that many other fields have not been protected. They have allowed us to keep our autonomy in serving our patients, which has led to a healthier lifestyle for dentists and better care for our patients. I believe it is our responsibility to continue their work, especially now in this ever-changing political climate. When we are united, our voice is powerful.
Favorite Animal and Why: I going to have to go with the lion as my favorite animal, and not just because The Lion King was my favorite movie growing up. They are the "kings of the jungle" and who wouldn’t want to be king. Besides being known for their beauty, strength, and intelligence, they seem to just give off this perception of power. My favorite part of their species is that they have this awesome combination of playfulness in youth and wisdom in adulthood.

How I got involved with ASDA: I started off as a pre-dental mentor and loved it so I started signing up for all of ASDA's pre-dental events and continued serving as a mentor for pre-dental students in addition to sitting in on Q&A panels for dental school admissions. I now serve as the ASDA District 6 Pre-Dental Consultant and work with the pre-dental organizations in our District. I let the pre-dental advisors and students know about various events they can take advantage of through ASDA, such as DAT week and various webinars and resources available on our website. I'm also here to answer any questions pre-dental students or their organizations may have in regards to dental school admissions or dental school in general.
Favorite Animal and Why: Koala-- even though they spend the majority of their time sleeping and don't really do anything, I just think they're super cute and my life goal is to hold one.

I love being able to get away from school, spending it with other students, and having a great time with each other.
What is your favorite animal and why? Sloths are by far my favorite animal. For an animal that slow, they must have a great deal of patience. They just hang around and do what they please to pass the time. I envy sloths and their demeanor.
